Everyday Cat Hotel uses the Mi Home, also known as Xiaomi Home, app to provide live CCTV access inside private cat rooms. Our team will guide you through the setup and connection process if you request the service.
The app is available on compatible smartphones and supports sharing camera access with multiple family members, such as parents or other relatives who would like to check on your cat. Access is subject to the permissions and settings arranged by our team.
How Does the CCTV Service Work?
Live View: Watch your cat inside their private room 24 hours a day.
Private room access only: You cannot access cameras in common areas or other cats’ rooms.
No playback: Customer access is limited to live viewing only.
Family sharing: Multiple family members can use the app to watch the camera.
No two-way talking: The hotel does not enable the speaker function for talking to cats.
In this service, “24-hour CCTV” means that you can access the live camera feed at any time. It does not mean that customers can access 24 hours of recorded video footage.
Is the CCTV Night View Clear?
The cameras inside our cat rooms have a feature that allows viewing in low-light or nighttime conditions. This means you can still check on your cat when the room lights are turned off for rest.
Nighttime footage may appear in black and white or look different from daytime footage. Image clarity depends on factors such as lighting, distance, camera position, and the specific camera model. The level of detail may therefore vary depending on the conditions.
Can I Talk to My Cat Through the CCTV Speaker?
Everyday Cat Hotel does not enable the two-way talking function for customers. Although some camera models support two-way audio, our hotel provides the system for live viewing only.
The main reason is to maintain a peaceful environment for every cat staying with us. Unexpected sounds from a speaker, particularly during rest periods or at night, could disturb your cat or other cats in nearby rooms.
Could Talking Through a Camera Make My Cat More Stressed or Startled?
It is possible for some cats, but it does not mean every cat will become stressed when hearing their owner’s voice. Cats have different personalities, experiences, and sensitivities to sound. Some may find a familiar voice comforting, while others may become startled or start searching for their owner when they hear the voice but cannot see the person.
Sound from a speaker is also different from normal face-to-face communication. Factors such as volume, audio quality, and the sudden start of a voice may make some cats uncomfortable, especially when they are still adjusting to a new environment.
On the other hand, a familiar voice may help certain cats feel reassured. It would therefore be inaccurate to say that an owner’s voice is always harmful or stressful.
